Scotts Head
On Tuesday the 24th November we were off to Scotts Head. This is the view as you crest the hill overlooking Scotts Head.
Fitting on to the site in the van park was a chore because a light pole was right in the way of where I needed to swing around whilst backing the van in. However, nice neighbours were helpful in guiding me around. I wound up having to go close to about four neighbours vans and vehicles but that’s OK. So after setup and lunch we took a drive around town to get our bearings. Firstly we drove up overlooking Little Beach.
Then to another of the headlands there for more nice views.
The van park is adjacent to both Little Beach and Main Beach. Main Beach is just beautiful with crystal clear water and not much in the way of waves but it make it a beautiful swim. You can bet we were straight in for a swim.
That night we went to the Bowling Club for dinner which was pretty good. In the morning we took a drive out to Grassy Head. It is a nice quiet spot, surrounded by National Park. It has a nice Beach.
Then we went on to Stuart’s Point. It is a fisherman’s paradise. There is a van park there and I reckon everyone owned a tinny. It is right on the river and the waterway continues down to South West Rocks.
We had a number of swims that day back at Scotts Head.
On Thursday morning after breakfast I went fishing. I am not a keen enough fisherman to get up at dawn or earlier. First of all I went to Little Beach and then over to Main Beach. I gave it a good long time but did no good. Maybe because I didn’t get up early??
So had more swims and a good energy walk that day. Love this spot.
That evening we went out on sunset and walked up the headland between Main Beach and Little Beach. Whilst it was not a spectacular sunset it was very peaceful and beautiful.
I did get up early the next morning to see the views from the headland. The morning sun on the water made it so beautifully clear.
Loved Scotts Head and we will return. Friday morning we hooked up and pulled the van out to the street. Just had to have one last swim. After that we left for Macksville.
